Yes,
Tout-Fait is for free!
CyberArtSciencePress,
the publishing arm of the not-for-profit Art Science Research Laboratory,
Inc., announces the inaugural issue of Tout-Fait: the Marcel Duchamp
Studies Online Journal. This first interactive, multi-media journal
focusing on the French-American artist Marcel Duchamp brings together
a unique, international group of scholars and writers from a variety of
fields. An interdisciplinary project, Tout-Fait does not subscribe
to a single point of view and is committed to presenting a wide range
of peer-reviewed articles, interviews and news relating to one of modern
art's most important figures and his circle of friends and contemporaries.
Dedicated to a notion of hybridity, Tout-Fait's goal is to cross
boundaries of media, discipline and format, drawing from both the sciences
and the humanities in order to generate dialogue between established thinkers
and younger scholars.
For contributors, Tout-Fait
offers an unlimited capacity for color reproductions, animation and video
illustration. For readers, Touf-Fait offers an archival search
engine, audio finder and text markers. Taking full advantage of the speed
of electronic publishing, Tout-Fait aims to present the latest
news and research in the growing field of Duchamp studies. This information
will be globally-accessible 24 hours a day, and hyper-links will encourage
a level of exchange previously impossible in traditional print publications.
Furthermore, a
continually updated bulletin-board will post announcements and reviews
of related publications, exhibitions, symposiums, web sites, on-line conversations
and more.
Tout-Fait is
produced by professionals and graduate students from various disciplines,
with an advisory board whose members include: Craig Adcock, University
of Iowa; Richard Brandt, New York University; André Gervais, University
of Quebec; Stephen Jay Gould, Harvard University; Rhonda Roland Shearer,
Harvard University; and Charles Stuckey, Kimbell Art Museum.
Tout-Fait will
be published tri-annually with an available yearly archive on CD-Rom.
